Welcome Friends!

Hi! My Name is Kerri Fisher,

I am the Director of Field Education and Associate Professor of Social Work at Hardin Simmons University.  Previous to my recent (and very exciting) move to Abilene to join the HSU Faculty, I worked as a School Social Worker in Austin Texas at The University of Texas Elementary School . I studied Psychology as an undergraduate at Howard Payne University, then taught English in Kyrgyzstan with www.teachoverseas.org and finally came home and attended Graduate School at the University of Texas @ Austin. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker which means that my studies and work have predominantly been with individuals and families in need of counseling services. Nevertheless, as a Generalist Practitioner in Social Work I am also deeply fascinated by and committed to the programs, policies and politics which most intimately affect the lives of my clients, my students and my own family. When I am not Social-Working or Teaching I like to be traveling, writing, reading, eating or having good conversation. This is a brief intoduction to me–but you might have a few more questions and that is why I created a few more pages which can be accessed at the top of this page.

If you want to know more about Social Work and the Classes that I teach, take a look at the Courses tab.

Interested in what I believe? Check out my Statement of Faith.

Curious about what kind of teacher I am? That’s what a Teaching Philosopy is for.

Wanna know the sorts of things that I am into? See All About Me.

And always feel free to contact me if you have other questions!

Thanks for stopping by, Let’s do this in person some time!
